Technology Today and Tomorrow

Our lives have changed in the last 30 years. Technology is part of who we are and what we do. Through technology we have opportunities that previously were beyond out grasp. We have social media to keep track of family and friends. We have a wealth of information at our finger tips. Through eCommerce our ways of shopping have change. Delivery service business is booming! Our challenge is harnessing the power at our fingertips while at the same time not letting the technology harness us.

One of my greatest learning experiences happened in the summer of 2013. Even though I was teaching in China, I learned so much about the use of technology there. The ladies in the picture above were both my students of technology and my teachers.

Our Challenges

Even with all of the technology power at our disposal, we are not without challenges. We sit more. The art of face to face discussion is taking a back seat to online collaboration. The web also can aid less desirable pursuits to become more easily accessible. Our challenge is how do we promote the good while addressing the not so desirable and down right bad.

Learning Technology

With all the advantages and challenges we face with technology today, to me the best way to address them is by learning. By understanding how the technology works and the impact it has on our live we are better prepared to integrate social, informational, and commercial opportunities and threats. It is my passion to help others understand the world of technology we live in -- to not face it with fear, but with confidence. I'm glad you're here!
